What are the common precautions for purchasing stainless steel elbows and special attention? There are relatively many types of stainless steel products, so we must clearly choose the right stainless steel elbows during the purchase process, and we must also understand many common precautions about stainless steel elbows.
Most buyers do not have technical support to detect product sizes. Take the most common 90-degree stainless steel elbow as an example. Normally R=1.5D, but the molds used by many manufacturers on the market are mostly 1.25D. Don’t look at this 0.25D. There is a difference in the weight of the blanking. That is to say, many manufacturers make non-standard ones, which are shorter than the standard size. This should be paid attention to when purchasing. Of course, it is not ruled out that the purchase specifically requires non-standard ones.
Stainless steel elbows are made of many materials, the most commonly used are 304 and 316. 316 has more Mo than 304, so 316 is more resistant to high temperatures than 304. This is difficult to distinguish from the outside, and the price difference is also relatively large. Many stainless steel elbow manufacturers will use potions to distinguish when selecting raw materials, but there will be errors. The best way is to use a professional spectrometer to detect, which is highly accurate and convenient.
Before the stainless steel elbow leaves the factory, a caliper will be used to measure the wall thickness. Although many times the buyer feels that it barely meets the standard after inspection, one aspect is overlooked, that is, the wall thickness of the back arc is insufficient. This is because the wall will be reduced during the elbow push. Although the caliber barely meets the standard, the back arc is mostly not thick enough. Usually the manufacturer is relatively clear. If the 114X3.5 elbow is basically produced with a 114X4 thick steel pipe, the thickness of the stainless steel elbow produced in this way is sufficient.
Stainless steel elbows are used to connect pipe bends. Connect two pipes of the same nominal diameter to make the pipe turn at an angle. Elbows are used in all walks of life across the country, from small families to large enterprises. Each carbon steel elbow has its own advantages and uses, so we must open our eyes and be cautious when buying elbows.
